Abstract

Sustainability issues in agricultural and rural development policies is a training package to be used by agricultural economists and environmentalists in preparing training sessions on sustainability and environmental concerns for agricultural policy analysts and planners.

Volume 1, to be distributed to trainees, includes basic concepts, readings, exercises, glossary and bibliography.

Volume 2, to be used by the trainer, includes suggestions on the main messages to be communicated, best references, proposes transparencies to prepare for lectures and solution sets for exercises.

The package is conceived as a flexible resource from which to build up training sessions lasting from one day to about two weeks, according to the needs of the audience and availability of time.
