The 6th Management and Disciplinary Team (MDT) meeting was held at the Subregional Office for Southern Africa (SFS) from 26 to 30 March 2012 in Harare, Zimbabwe, followed by a two-day Country Programming Framework and Resource Mobilization workshop.
The workshop was attended by participants from 13 countries including FAO Representatives and Assistant FAO Representatives, SFS technical officers and RAF representatives. This workshop was held at the request of the Subregional Coordinator, SFS, in response to the need to have all countries with completed draft Country Programme Frameworks by year-end noting that there are only two countries (Malawi and Zambia) which have a current National Medium-Term Priority Framework (NMTPF) with the programming cycle going beyond 2012.
The objectives of the workshop were to:
- equip SFS colleagues with rationale, key concepts and tools to formulate a CPF which includes a resource mobilization action plan;
- firmly focus resource mobilization efforts in support of CPF and United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) at country level, and;
- identify, contextualise and outline the steps for a CPF ‘roadmap’ in order to formulate a CPF including a resource mobilization action plan in the country by the end of the year.
