Participation in the Expert Support Review and Planning Meeting jointly organized by AUC/DREA and NPCA
The objective of the meeting was to i) exchange lessons learned in the implementation of CAADP and ii) discuss the expertise required to support the implementation process and the technical support expected from key development partners.
The main focus of the discussion was in how to sustain the momentum gained over the last couple of years in the advancement of the CAADP agenda and ensure that the process progresses into concrete CAADP implementation on the ground. Some of the key activities identified in this area include advocacy work for Governments to honour their commitment to increase budgetary allocation to agriculture, and to ensure the delivery of the financial assistance pledged by bilateral and multilateral donors and international financial institutions in various global fora.
The second dominant item of discussion was the role of the Pillar institutions in accompanying the CAADP post-compact process, especially the technical review of the CAADP Investment Plans (IPs).
