A country planning tool

Our team provides support to (Sub) Regional Offices in the CPF formulation process at the country level.

The CPF is a tool for the FAO country-level strategic prioritization and overall medium-term country-level programming. CPFs also constitute FAO’s input into the national development frameworks and planning cycles, as well as into the UNDAF.

In practical terms, our team supports the process by:

• supporting Regional, Sub-Regional and FAORs preparing CPF documents, identifying and assessing crucial policy areas;
• developing methodologies and tools for CPF formulation, including guidelines, a website (forthcoming), forums and networks;
• identifying and disseminating lessons learned and good practices from field experience.
