Backstopping policy activities in various regions, including North Africa and Egypt.
Coordination of a small team that is responsible for a global initiative on developing an online policy monitoring tool that can be operated and used by member countries to enhance policy dialogue and formulation. In the context of this program the team prepares policy briefs, conducts capacity building exercises in selected countries and develops guidelines and standard operation procedures for the Food and Agriculture Policies Decision Analysis tool (FAPDA).
Highly experienced in strategy development, policy analysis and formulation, programme management (planning, monitoring and evaluation), capacity building and change management as well as very skilled in facilitation, team building and organizational development.
I worked in various fields of agriculture from private sector, to bilateral development agencies to multinational organizations. In FAO I filled different positions in headquarters and in the field. In my last position as policy coordinator in the Sub regional office for North Africa, I assisted governments and decentralized offices in the Maghreb region in formulating and implementing technical assistance programmes supporting policy reforms, trade liberalization and regional integration with the aim to improve food security.
