Community based data gathering and co-management of marine resources in Timor-Leste

FAO introduced a model for Community-based IUU reporting system in Timor-Leste, through the RFLP (Regional Fisheries Livelihood Programme) that enable fish folks to report to the Fisheries Department of any suspected IUU fishing activity in the national water. Timor-Leste model was selected by the International Monitoring Control and Surveillance (MCS) Network as the best model among 30 countries in 2014.
