Agroclimatic data for station:

Crop Calendar

Legend:

Growing periods
The two tables below give the growing periods for the station. Total is the total number of seasons, usually one or two. Each individual season is identified by a number (column labelled "Nr."). For each season, we provide the date on which it begins (Begin date), ends (End date) as well as the length of the season in days. Seasons are also identified by a "Type". Most seasons belong to Type 3, i.e. they are characterised by a dry, moist and humid period. During the dry period, rainfall is insufficient to sustain crop growth. The moist period has enough water supply to sustain early crop growth stages while the humid period has enough rainfall to cover the water requirements of crops at their most demanding stages. Planting and germination normally take place during the moist period, while flowering occurs towards the middle or later parts of the humid period. In practice, a variety of conditions can occur. More information on the calculation of the length of growing period, can be found in the following document.
