Have you ever thought about producing a video about food, nutrition, sustainability or hunger?  That is exactly what Short Food Movie encouraged the public (be they food buffs, students, activists, movie geeks or professional filmmakers).

Short Food Movie - Feed your Mind, Film your Planet was a global open call for 30-60 second videos inspired by the theme for Expo Milano 2015, “Feeding the Planet. Energy for Life.” It includesda UN category dedicated to the Zero Hunger Challenge, which called for videos about any of the five elements of the Zero Hunger Challenge or the UN focus area for Expo 2015, women’s empowerment and gender equality. A selection of the best videos were projected on the WALL, a huge video installation in Pavilion Zero.

As part of this partnership a contest for the best video of the Zero Hunger Challenge category was also launched. A jury chaired by Costanza Quatriglio, author and director of the film dedicated to UN theme for Expo, and composed of Diamara Parodi, project manager of Short Food Movie, Antonella Porfido, Creative Director of the UN-Expo Team, Vichi De Marchi, WFP Spokesperson for Italy, and Enza De Falco,  Broadcast Communication Officer from IFAD, selected the best video among the 20 most voted videos. Its author was invited to Expo Milano 2015 to attend World Food Day celebrations on 16 October 2015.

Short Food Movie was an Expo Milano 2015 initiative organized by the Fondazione Cinema per Roma and the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.
