Abeline Razanamamy is an elderly widow living in central Madagascar. She is determined not to rely on anybody else for her survival.  She's maintained her independence by growing rice... a lot of rice.  She applies  a technique called the System for Rice Intensification, or SRI, which has more than doubled her yield. Developed in Madagascar in the 1980s, SRI is now being used by about 5 million farmers across the world.
