The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) is an international plant health agreement, established in 1952, that aims to protect cultivated and wild plants by preventing the introduction and spread of pests.


The IPPC is governed by the Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM).

Membership

The 183 signatories adhere to the Convention. Countries that wish to become contracting parties to the IPPC must deposit their instrument of adherence with the Director General of FAO.
