Urban Food Actions Platform

The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) global health crisis is heavily affecting food and agriculture, creating major disruption in the urban food systems.
Local and sub-national governments worldwide are taking various actions to respond to the COVID 19 pandemic and mitigate its effects, either implementing existing national strategies or additional/complementary ones.

This section includes initiatives, good practices, innovative ideas, policy briefs or regulations conceived by national and local governments around the world, in collaboration with civil society at different levels.

The objective of those measures is to generally mitigate the impacts of lockdowns on food systems, with the main focus on food production and distribution, and support for feeding the most vulnerable people.

We are also happy to receive and evaluate contributions and experiences from cities on how they are responding to the COVID-19 pandemics.
