DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the general supervision of the Chief, AFHT and the direct supervision of the Human Resources Officer (Learning) will be responsible for providing professional support and expertise to the Management and Leadership Programme. In particular will:

  • coordinate the Coaching Programme for FAO managers;
  • advise post Management Development Centre (MDC) participants on assessing appropriate development needs;
  • provide advice, design and develop an evaluation process to measure the impact of the management and leadership training programme;
  • participate in the design of a key communication strategy to support the management leadership;
  • design and develop an e-News Letter and toolkit for managers as key communication strategies;
  • participate to the development of the management of leadership curriculum;
  • provide management support to the Women’s Leadership Programme;
  • introduce new approaches to staff development and learning and/or modify existing ones to strengthen overall capacity;
  • collaborate with other UN agencies and organizations to maintain comparative advantage in management and leadership trends;
  • assist in the design and development of a training programme for General Service level staff;
  • prepare briefing materials on management and leadership programme and related human resources issues;
  • coordinate inputs and ensure quality control of external contractors in design and delivery of staff development programmes/materials;
  • perform other related duties as required.

**APPOINTMENT TO THIS POSITION IS TEMPORARY AS ITS DURATION IS TWO YEARS WITH POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Candidates should meet the following:

  • University degree in human resources management, public or business administration or related field
  • Five years of relevant experience in human resources, including hands-on experience in staff development, learning, career development, management development or talent management
  • Working knowledge of English, French or Spanish and limited knowledge of one of the other two

SELECTION CRITERIA
Candidates will be assessed against the following:

  • Breadth and relevance of experience in human resources, with a particular emphasis in one of the areas of experience
  • Extent of facilitation skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of management and leadership programmes
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and make recommendations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in leading or supervising the work of others
  • Client focus oriented and commitment to results

* The length of appointment for internal FAO candidates will be established in accordance with applicable policies pertaining to the extension of appointments.

REMUNERATION

Level P-3 carries a net salary per year (inclusive of a variable element for post adjustment) from US$ 90 526 US$ 113 844 (without dependants) and from US$ 96 981 to US$ 122 395 (with dependants)
