The WRB Forum and Discussion List provides a platform for opinions, questions and thought-sharing to further improve and enlighten the WRB. It also provides opportunities to submit proposals for
modification or enhancement of the WRB system, and to act as medium through which members can assist each other in preparing papers, presentations and publications. The list will be moderated by
Otto Spaargaren (ISRIC), initially once a month, but more frequently if needed.
Proposals for modification or enhancement of WRB need to be accompanied by a justification statement, proposed definitions (including possible consequences for other definitions), and supporting
evidence in the form of site and soil descriptions and relevant analytical data. Such proposals can then be discussed through the WRB Forum and Discussion List before they are finally adopted and
incorporated into WRB. Preferred language will be English, but you are welcome to submit in French, Spanish or any other international language.
WRB-L is a non-commercial, moderated e-mail discussion list including an archive of mail contributions. Its purpose is to exchange information and experiences worldwide via e-mail. Participants
are strongly encouraged to provide feedback on the use of the WRB (problems encountered in soil correlation, soil mapping, use of the CD ROM ,comments on the WRB web website).
Other activities also include:
- network newsletters (twice a year, distributed via this list and archived on the website)
- brief information such as news items, forthcoming events and courses, project updates, new publications, etc.
Each item includes, where possible, an e-mail contact address and the internet address of the news source.
