International Year of Pulses (IYP) FAO Special Ambassador nomination ceremony

As part of the celebrations of the International Year of Pulses 2016, FAO organises an event with the participation of FAO Director-General, Mr. José Graziano da Silva, the Ambassador of Pakistan and Permanent Representative to FAO His Excellency Mr. Nadeem Riyaz, the Ambassador of Turkey and Permanent Representative to FAO His Excellency Mr. Aydin Adnan Sezgin and Ms Jenny Chandler, food writer and cookery teacher.

 

During the event, FAO Director-General Mr Jose Graziano da Silva nominates Ms Chandler as FAO Special Ambassador for the International Year of Pulses for the region of Europe.

 

At the end of the event, a new publication, describing the benefits of eating pulses is launched, as well as the inauguration of the exhibit showcasing how pulses play a crucial role in ensuring food security and healthy nutrition for populations around the globe. The event enjoys the intervention of Ms Marcela Villarreal, Director, Partnerships, Advocacy and Capacity Development Division and is moderated by Mr. Enrique Yeves.
