As part of a fruitful collaboration between FAO and Fico Foundation and following the visit of the Director-General to FICO Eataly World last November, Prof Segre, President of FICO foundation and Professor at the University of Bologna requested FAO to host the sixth edition of the National Day for the Prevention of Food Waste at FAO on 4 February 2019. The event is being organized by the University of Bologna in close collaboration with the Italian Ministry of the Environment and the FICO Foundation.
