Launch of the International Year of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture 2022

The launch of the International Year of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture (IYAFA 2022) will celebrate their diversity; show their contributions to achieving the SDGs; and build and strengthen partnerships at all levels.
It will also pay tribute and link to the currently informal World Fisheries Day, celebrated on 21 November, and will be an opportunity to inform about the goals and objectives of IYAFA 2022 to inspire action-oriented celebrations throughout the year.
The launch will also provide the frame for the the award ceremony for the 2020 Margarita Lizarraga Medal.
