This seminar will be presented by Martin W. Bloem, Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future in the Department of Environmental Health and Engineering at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Saskia de Pee, Senior Technical Advisor for Nutrition at the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).

The seminar will take the form of a roundtable discussion led by Prof. Martin Bloem, Director of the Center for a Livable Future, Department of Environmental Health and Engineering, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health who will give a presentation on his most recent paper on “Country-specific dietary shifts to mitigate climate and water crises” and focus on a very relevant issue in FAO today, “Sustainable Healthy Diets.” His presentation will be followed by a roundtable discussion on “policy implications for country specific dietary shifts” that will include concerned staff from different departments/divisions.

The authors will also discuss preliminary data from a follow-up analysis of Indonesia. The Indonesia study is the first of a series of country-specific analyses that will provide a more in-depth look at the implications of various plant-forward diets for the agricultural, economic, and health sector in the context of specific countries.
