Google launches analytics tool for YouTube

Google has just replaced the YouTube Insight with YouTube Analytics, giving online video producers more detailed statistics on how their content is watched.

YouTube Analytics generates the same data previously given from YouTube Insight but also much more.

The new analytical tool includes a summary report to give top-level performance metrics on user’s YouTube content.

It also provides easy access to more detailed statistics. It gives the demographics of who is watching the producer’s video content and tells the user where the traffic is being drawn from. It also shows which videos are drawing the most views and subscribers to allow content producers to promote these videos more heavily.

Some of the new features that are available in Analytics:

  • A Quick Overview: A new overview provides all of the information that you care about quickly, while also enabling you to easily access more detailed information.
  • More Detailed Reports: Analytics now includes more detailed statistics so that you can have a more precise understanding of your content and audiences.
  • Audience Builders: Discover which videos are driving the most views and subscriptions.
  • Audience Retention: See how far viewers are watching through your video in the new audience retention report.

The Creator Playbook has also been updated to show you how to use your new Analytics to build and engage with bigger audiences and make better videos.
