Procedure
The tool you have used to construct your Web site will determine how you access the test environment.
Placing files in one of the test servers, enables a user to see how the Web site will perform once copied live. For example, the URL for Web site files placed on the faoint0b server begins with "http://www-data".
The Information Technology Division (CIO) manages and monitors FAO test environments.
Access to the test environment Most Web sites, including in house content management systems, are placed on the server faoint0b. The URL for this test server is always http://www-data.fao.org/[name of Web site].
Site owners can request access (for themselves or others) to their Web site folder on the test server by sending an email to web-intranet-updates@fao.org. For access to the Corporate Document Repository please see 2.3b Regulation of access to servers.
- Content management systems
Web sites that have been created using an internal content management system are managed by the Information Systems and Technology Division (CIO). Access to the test environment of a content management system is granted through user names and passwords that are provided by CIO.
