	2.10 Current server structure at FAO What is a server? A server is a computer that handles requests for data, e-mail, file transfers and other network services from other computers (i.e. clients) that are linked to it through a network. Common servers are Web servers, proxy servers, mail servers, and file servers. At FAO, Web sites and other online material are stored in a number of Web servers. FAO servers and who has access? Policy At FAO the Chief Information Officer Division (CIO) manages and monitors the FAO servers that contain the Organization's digital material.
