Video Material
The Information Division has produced a series of 30" promos and a video focusing on the essential role that water plays in FAO's efforts to help build a world without hunger. Water problems and water solutions are related by the very farmers who are now reaping the benefits of irrigation schemes and improved resource management.
- Young mother Gracie Foti, who lost her crops to months of drought, makes bricks for a new irrigation system on the shores of Lake Malawi.
- Just 10 km down the road, village headman Steven Ruben replants his land, after flash flooding swept away his corn and water-logged his land.
- 22-year-old Agnes Mwale and her fellow villagers work together to rebuild an abandoned dam in the famine stricken region of Kasungo.
- In Ecuador, widowed mother of 9 and grandmother of 20 Hermerita Chala doubles her yield with a simple and efficient irrigation system.
The 8-minute video is available to broadcasters in Betacam (PAL).
