Purpose

The purpose of the “WAW Join Us” (hereinafter the “Join Us Platform”) is to provide any interaction available to the users within the Join Us Platform, the specific features of which includes ‘to share experiences, tools and results’, ‘to discuss about methodological choices’, ‘to identify the needs of organizations to develop their own information system’, ‘to identify possible projects’ (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Entries”). The users will be able to submit Entries through the above-mentioned features.

The Join Us Platform is hosted and managed by FAO.

By using the Join Us Platform, you acknowledge and agree that these Terms and Conditions and other terms that will be displayed to you at the time you first use certain features (as may be amended by FAO from time to time), shall apply, including in connection with the processing of any personal data you may make available through the Join Us Platform.

General Provisions

Access

1. When submitting Entries, you will be required to provide some personal and contact information, including but not limited to, username, name, organization, country of residence, region, affiliation, and e-mail address (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Data”). No other Data apart from that requested for access or registration will be collected without your prior consent.
2. All information shared with the Join Us Platform will be identified with your name and affiliation.
3. The WAW Team will use your Data to post Entries received through the Join Us Platform.
4. FAO reserves the right to verify users’ eligibility or that of any entry (including your identity and email address) and to not publish or remove any user who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. By submitting Entries to the Join Us Platform, you acknowledge, agree and consent to FAO’s processing, sharing and otherwise use your Data for the purposes and within the context of the Join Us Platform and any other purposes outlined in these Terms and Conditions.
5. FAO reserves the right at any time, and from time to time, to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Join Us Platform, including any means of accessing or utilizing it, at its sole discretion with or without prior notice to users.
6. FAO may at its sole discretion, under any circumstances, for any or no reason whatsoever and with or without prior notice to users, terminate any user’s access to the Join Us Platform, including to any means of accessing or utilizing it.

Responsibility of user
As a user, you acknowledge and agree that you:

1. will comply with all applicable laws, including, without limitation, privacy laws, intellectual property laws, anti-spam laws;
2. will not submit Entries for anyone else other than yourself;
3. will not create a false identity, or misrepresent your identity, affiliation with a person or entity, past or present, or your current or previous positions and qualifications;
4. are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity and security of the Data and Entries that you submit when accessing or using the Join Us Platform;
5. are responsible for independently verifying the accuracy and completeness of all data, information and contents of the Join Us Platform;
6. will not publicly represent or imply that FAO is participating in, or has sponsored, approved or endorsed the manner or purpose of your use of the Join Us Platform.

By using the Join Us Platform, you agree that FAO may - in accordance with the choices you make about who can see your Entries, when applicable - reproduce, distribute, display and create derivate works, without any further consent, notice and/or compensation to you or others, of the information provided in the Join Us Platform, including your Data, in connection with the purpose of the Join Us Platform and the promotion of FAO’s work, in:

1. the Join Us Platform;
2. FAO corporate website: www.fao.org;
3. Corporate videos or digital recordings to illustrate the work of the Organization;
4. Printed FAO publications or brochures;
5. Social media channels;
6. Any other media used by FAO in its communications.

Responsibility of FAO

1.  FAO shall process all Entries and Data in accordance with its rules, policies and practice.
2. FAO shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from, or directly or indirectly connected to, the use of, reference to, or reliance on any content provided in the Join Us Platform, including, but not limited to, any liability arising from any intentional or negligent misuse, errors, disclosure, undue transfer, loss or destruction of data that may occur.

Copyright

1. Copyright of the material on the Join Us Platform remains with the individual information provider(s) or original rights holder(s). Users may only submit content for which they have the right or permission to distribute electronically and to authorize others to redistribute. Unless otherwise indicated, you acknowledge and agree that FAO and WAW secretariat may reproduce, distribute, display and create derivate works, without any further consent, notice and/or compensation to you or others, of the information provided in the Join Us Platform.

Disclaimer and Liability

1. While the information contained in the Join Us Platform is periodically updated, no guarantee is given that the information provided is correct, complete, and up-to-date.
2. FAO shall not be responsible for any entries that are not received due to internet or software failures.
3. FAO does not represent or endorse the accuracy or reliability of any data, information or other material provided by any user in the Join Us Platform. FAO explicitly disclaims any responsibility for the content of such data, information and materials provided or processed through the Join Us Platform.
4. Links to other websites are provided for the user's convenience only and do not constitute endorsement by FAO of material at those sites, or any associated organization, product or service.
5. Users are responsible for independently verifying the accuracy and completeness of all data, information and contents and bear the sole responsibility and risk for their access and use of the contents of third party information.
6. Under no circumstances shall FAO be liable to any user for any misrepresentation, inaccuracy, error, omission, deletion, defect, alteration of any content of the Join Us Platform, or for its timeliness or completeness.
7. FAO shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from, or directly or indirectly connected to, the use of, reference to, or reliance on any information contained in the Join Us Platform, including, but not limited to, any liability arising from any intentional or negligent misuse, errors, disclosure, undue transfer, loss or destruction of data that may occur.

Data deletion and retention

1. At any time, you can delete, review, correct or update your Personal and/or Contact Data by accessing the appropriate features in the Join Us Platform (profile settings). You can also request FAO to delete, review, correct or update your submission by writing to [email protected] at any time.

Privileges and Immunities

1. Nothing contained in or related to these Terms and Conditions shall be deemed a waiver, express or implied, of the privileges and immunities of FAO, or as its acceptance of the jurisdiction of the courts of any country over disputes arising out of these Terms and Conditions or any other document related thereto.

Acceptance

1. By submitting Entries and Data into the Join Us Platform, you confirm that you read, understood and agree to the Terms and Conditions to be part of the Join Us Platform, as set out above.
