WAW Coordinator, Pierre-Marie Bosc, was invited to give a keynote address focusing on The Goals of the United Nations “Decade of Family Farming” at an international symposium held in Tokyo Agritech & Foodtech Summit (AG/SUM)  and organized by Nikkei Review, a japanese economics newspaper (November 18th to 20th). He was also involved in the panel session: “Multi-stakeholders' Cooperation for the Agriculture, What is s key to the success?” and the Workshop: “What Is Global Action Plan for the UN "Decade of Family Farming? Implications for National Action Plans”

Usually focusing in High Tech trends to support the development of agriculture and global agri-business such as Big Data, AI, Robotics, remote sensing…, AG/SUM this year opened the discussion on the UN Decade of Family Farming, the Sustainable Development Goals and Community Development: "Bridge over Sustainable Development Goals with Technology, Management and Community." 

During this visit to Japan contacts were established with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature [RIHN] in Kyoto, and ended with a lecture at Kyoto University Graduate School of Agriculture “The Roles of Smallholders and Family Farmers, and Challenges towards Sustainable Development”.
