The Executive Board of the World Banana Forum appoints its chairperson

The World Banana Forum (WBF) is very pleased to announce the election of Renwick Ellsworth Adrian Rose as the Chairperson of its Executive Board. Our sincere congratulations and many thanks to him! His commitment to and engagement in promoting the conditions of banana farmers and workers in the industry is commendable. The Secretariat of the WBF and its members look forward to working together with him to foster the sustainability of the banana industry. 

 

 

 

Renwick Rose - short biography:

Renwick Ellsworth Adrian Rose, Chairperson of the WBF’s Executive Board, is currently a member of the WBF’s Steering Committee and Organizing Committee of the third WBF Conference. He is also Board Director at WINFA and WINFRESH.

Renwick Rose was the CEO of WINFA (Windward Islands Farmers Association) for more than 15 years (1996-2012) addressing a variety of issues including food security, gender equity, continuity and linkages in farmers and rural communities in the Caribbean. He has also been one of the founders of the WBF (representing WINFA) and initiated Fair Trade bananas exports from the Windward Islands in 2000.

Aside from his involvement in the banana Sector, Renwick Rose is also the founding member of the Caribbean Civil society Movement, CPDC (Caribbean Policy Development Centre) and retired Chairman since 2016.
