World Food Day – Towards Zero Hunger

For the first time, FAO Ambassadors for Zero Hunger will unite and discuss their efforts to mobilize action for Zero Hunger in their respective regions. These include Carlo Petrini, President of Slow Food (Europe); Guadalupe Valdez, economist and former congresswoman (Latin America and the Caribbean); Darine el Khatib, media professional (Near East); and, Kanayo F. Nwanze, former President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (Africa). A video message will also be delivered by HRH, Princess Maha Chakri Srindhorn, Zero Hunger Ambassador for the region of Asia. The FAO publication “Towards Zero Hunger”, which explores FAO’s efforts to end hunger and malnutrition over the past 72 years, will also be launched during the event.
