#WorldFoodDay and FAO75 events in Italy

Rome, Italy, 16/10/2020 16/10/2020

In support of #WorldFoodDay and FAO’s 75th anniversary, activities have been organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) together with its partners FAO, Save the Children, the Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development of the European Commission (DEVCO), CIHEAM and the Municipalities of Bari, Teramo, Prato, Cremona and Rome.

Travelling to cities across Italy are two interactive multimedia installations: “SDG IN ACTION” and “2030IsNow”. Find them in BariTeramoPratoCremona and Rome!

The “SDG IN ACTION” wall will feature World Food Day content and celebrate the efforts of #FoodHeroes. Visit the installation and learn how YOU can be a food hero too. This event will also explore various initiatives in Italy that are aimed at achieving sustainable development.

The second edition of the installation “2030IsNow” demonstrates the commitment of the European Union and its member countries to create a more just, equitable and sustainable world and encourages European citizens and individuals to take action.

Other celebrations include street art murals and land-art, as well as two special video mapping shows. The video mapping event will mark FAO turning 75 and this year’s World Food Day celebrations in Rome on the façade of FAO headquarters and at the world-renowned Colosseum. The lively video and light show will showcase this year’s theme of Food Heroes and the “Grow, Nourish, Sustain. Together. Our Actions are our Future.” campaign.

If you will be in any of these five Italian cities, be sure to participate and join #WorldFoodDay .
