Natural resource management programme

Traditional resource management, coping and mitigation strategies have broken down under growing population pressure, the collapse of the rural economy and society. This has led to the depletion of natural resources and severe environmental degradation in a vicious circle of unsustainable and uncontrolled resource use, increased flooding and soil erosion.
