[Home] The Untied Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the UN's central funding source for technical assistance. FAO and UNDP cooperate on a regular basis. In 2001/2002 UNDP funded through the Ministry of Agriculture and selected FAO to be the implementing Agency of the National Agricultural information System (NAIS) project. Although the pilot project terminated in December 2002 there are possibilities of Government continuing with FAO as the implementing agency for the country wide implementation of NAIS. The Pilot phase only operated in the Southern National Nationalities People's Region. UNDP has also been co-operating with FAO in funding emergency projects. [detail] [Home] |
