Andorra and Montenegro join FAO

The FAO Conference today welcomed Andorra and the Republic of Montenegro as new members and the Faroe Islands as an associate member, bringing the total number of FAO members to 192.

Launch of the FAO Biotechnology website in Russian

In collaboration with its Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, FAO has now launched the Russian version of the website, which includes updated information on FAO’s work and international developments regarding agricultural biotechnologies and their products, as well as on related policy and regulatory issues surrounding research and application of agricultural biotechnologies.

FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia to open in Budapest
Agreement also sets up FAO Shared Services Centre

27 March 2007, Budapest/Rome - FAO and the Government of Hungary today signed an agreement to open two new FAO offices in Budapest, Hungary. The FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia and the FAO Shared Services Centre will join the Organization’s Subregional Office for Central and Eastern Europe, which has operated in Budapest since 1996.
