Brief Biography of Mr Oloche Anebi Edache, ADG/RR

Mr Oloche Anebi Edache, a national of Nigeria, was appointed as Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for Africa, effective 1 January 2005.

He holds a B.Sc. in Agriculture from the Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria and an M.Sc. in Agricultural Extension from the Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, United States of America.

Mr Edache started his career in 1970 as Agricultural Officer/Tutor at the Federal Soil and Water Conservation School of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources in Nigeria. From 1971 to 1985, he served in the Federal Department of Agriculture, commencing as Agricultural Officer and ultimately attaining the position of Assistant Chief Agricultural Officer. In 1985, he was appointed Chief Agricultural Officer and Head of the Field Project Monitoring Unit of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Rural Development. The following year, he became Assistant Director of the Federal Department of Rural Development in Abuja and subsequently, from 1989, he acted as Deputy Director until he was appointed Director of Agriculture in 1990. In 2002, he was appointed Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and served in this capacity until 2003, when he was assigned to the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs in Abuja as Permanent Secretary.
