Collaboration with Partners in Development

Being an inter-governmental organisation, FAO is mandated to work with and between governments. But, bringing to bear FAO's comparative advantages and expertise on forestry development in Africa carries with it a recognition of the need to work in close concert with other like-minded actors and stakeholders with different, but essential, contributions to make. Thus, RAFO will increasingly work through the regional and sub-regional groupings that countries of Africa have championed, as well as seek active partnerships with non-governmental organisations

FAO's programme of Technical Cooperation between Developing Countries (TCDC) is tailor-made to mobilise African expertise to confront development problems, be this at the individual or institutional level
