Jairo Castaño
Senior Statistician
Dr Castaño is responsible for the development and dissemination of agricultural statistics in Asia and the Pacific region. He provides advisory services in the development and implementation of national policies and programmes for food and agricultural statistics. He assists countries by identifying and formulating statistics field projects and providing technical backstopping to projects in the region. He also advises on the organization and conduct of agricultural censuses and surveys and of household surveys related to food and agriculture. Dr Castaño serves as Secretary of the Asia and Pacific Commission on Agricultural Statistics (APCAS) and coordinates the Commission's biennial Session.
Expertise: Statistical and econometric analysis; market and trade studies; project management; sustainable rural development.
Kinlay Dorjee
Economist
Dr Kinlay participates in policy research and development and provides advisory services in the formulation of national food security strategies, policies, programmes and projects, including response to requests for technical contributions on food security related issues generated by regional fora. He is responsible for analysis of the state of food and agriculture in the Asia-Pacific region, and also provides technical support to FAO members for the establishment and strengthening of early warning and food security information systems.
Expertise: Food security assessments and strategies; agriculture sector policy and strategy development; investment appraisal; institutional development; inter-governmental meetings and negotiations.

Translation Assistant
Ms Sodsoon provides coordination of arrangements and organization of the materials and correspondence for APCAS sessions and translates (between English and French) communications to/from French-speaking FAO member countries in the region.
