Ronald Van Nijnanten
Coordinator of the Regional Operations Branch for Asia and the Pacific

After assignments in FAO field projects as training officer became country project officer in 1984, first in headquarters covering several countries in Africa, and since 1996 in Bangkok. Presently Coordinator of the Operations Branch, responsible for coordination and monitoring of the implementation of the field programme in the region, coordination of activities of the Operations Branch, implementation of regional projects in the region and assisting other projects at the national level with support and guidance. Participate in the process of project formulation. Responsible for reporting on regional field programme implementation.


Edward Hotte
Senior Operations Officer

Undertook field assignments in several countries as a forester and became Operations Officer in the Forestry Operations Service in Rome in 1983 covering implementation of projects operated by the Europe and Near East Desk as well as the Interregional Desk and moved to the Asia and Pacific Desk. Presently stationed in Bangkok he is responsible for project implementation in several countries without FAO Representative, as well as regional projects. Responsible also for operational support and guidance to other projects at the national level in various countries. Participates in the process of project formulation.


Jacob T. Sterringa
Country Project Officer

Field experience as a tropical forester in various countries and became Forestry Project Operations Officer in 1992 at headquarters, Rome, responsible for the operational implementation of projects in the Near East and Europe. Since 1996 stationed in Bangkok and is responsible for the management and operation of regional projects as well as projects in countries without resident FAO Representatives. Provides operational support and guidance on project operations to FAO offices in several countries in Asia. Participates in the process of project formulation.


Daniele Salvini
Country Project Officer

Field experience as an agronomist in various countries. In 1997 he became Country Project Officer in FAO headquarters, Rome and moved to the Regional Office for Africa before joining the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific in 2001. He is responsible for managing and operating regional and national projects in the Pacific region, in particular the Regional Programme for Food Security project and its cluster of projects providing South-South Cooperation assistance. He has been out-posted to the Sub-regional Office in Samoa since 2004. Provides also support and guidance on project operations to sub-regional staff and participates in the process of project formulation.
