Bay of Bengal Programme Inter-Governmental Organisation (BOBP–IGO)

The Bay of Bengal Programme Inter-Governmental Organisation provides enduring regional cooperation among the Member countries of the Bay of Bengal region for fisheries development that aims at the socio-economic improvement of its fisheries and fish farmers.


Intergovernmental Organization for Marketing Information and Technical Advisory Services for Fishery Products (INFOFISH)

INFOFISH is an intergovernmental organization providing marketing information and technical advisory services to the fishery industry of the Asia-Pacific region and beyond from its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is the leading source of marketing support for fish producers and exporters in the Asia-Pacific – a region which includes some of the largest fishing nations in the world. Its activities include bringing buyers and sellers together, publication of current and long-term marketing information and operation of technical advisory and specialized services. In addition to organizing exhibitions, conferences, workshops, seminars and training programmes, INFOFISH undertakes consultancies on all aspects of fisheries – pre-harvest, harvest and post-harvest.


Mekong River Commission (MRC)

MRC, established in 1995, is composed of four members: Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand and Viet Nam. MRC promotes and coordinates sustainable management and development of water and related resources for the countries' mutual benefit and the people's well-being by implementing strategic programmes and activities and providing scientific information and policy advice.


Network of Aquaculture Centres in Asia (NACA)

NACA is an intergovernmental organization that promotes rural development through sustainable aquaculture. NACA seeks to improve rural income, increase food production and foreign exchange earnings and to diversify farm production.

NACA conducts development assistance projects throughout the region in partnership with governments, donor foundations, development agencies, universities and a range of non-governmental organizations and farmers.


Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC)

SPC is the premier regional technical and development organization of the Pacific. This international organization aims to develop the technical, professional, scientific, research, planning and management capability of Pacific island people and directly provide information and advice to enable them to make informed decisions about their future development and well-being.


Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC)

SEAFDEC, an autonomous intergovernmental body established as a regional treaty organization that aims to develop the fishery potentials in the region through training, research and information services to improve the food supply by rational utilization and development of fishery resources. Its services cover the broad areas of fishing gear technology, marine engineering, fishing ground surveys and stock assessment, post-harvest technology as well as development and improvement of aquaculture techniques.


WorldFish Center

The WorldFish Center promotes sustainable development and use of living aquatic resources based on environmentally sound management through research, partnership, capacity building and policy support.
