Human Development in Agricultural Information Management

Due to the pressing needs in the Near East Region for Sustainable Human Development which is an important issue in Sustainable Agriculture Development. FAO-RNE through WAICENT Outreach Field Programme provides training courses and technical workshops in Information Management and Networking to develop Sustainable Human Resources Capabilities of professionals in the Near East region

 

WAICENT Outreach Programme is working closely with Member States and the Regional Organizations associated with agricultural development and food security to develop human resources in information management in the Near East Region.

 

FAO and in collaboration with ICARDA have given two training courses programme in Electronic production of agricultural documents and bibliographic database managementto Regional Near East Member States (16 States - Two persons per State in two groups (first group was in May 2002 and the second group was in November, 2002) in ICARDA.  One regional training workshop in information management and documentation systems is underway and will be given in the second half of year 2003.

 

Furthermore, WAICENT Outreach Programme and its collaborators and partners will continue the development of the Information Management Resource Kit, a unique e-learning initiative known as the Information Management Resource Kit  that providing user's world-wide with the essential skills, knowledge base and tools needed for effective information management in agriculture.
