Through the Junior Farmer Field and Life Schools (JFFLS), YUNGA supports young farmers (15-25 years old) in learning how to farm, how to market and how to sell their produce. The JFFLS programme is an after school training programme, jointly developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization on the United Nations (FAO) and the International Labour Organization (ILO). The goal of the JFFLS is to empower rural youth and provide them with employment and livelihood options. Through the JFFLS, young people learn and acquire agricultural, life and entrepreneurial skills through discussions, observation, role plays and experimentation. Since 2003, over 25 000 people in 16 countries in Africa, Asia and Middle East have been trained.
