Raoul Bova

Raoul is internationally renowned and one of the most popular actors on the contemporary Italian film and television scene.

He has worked with renowned directors such as Pupi Avati, Lina Wertmuller and Ferzan Ozpetek, and co-starred with A-list actors and actresses including Sylvester Stallone, Sophia Loren, Giancarlo Giannini, Anthony Quinn and Sir Fahrid Murray Abraham. As a versatile actor, he has played romantic leads, comic parts and action heroes, ensuring that he is always adding layers and depth to his character roles with passion and devotion.

One of Raoul’s most popular roles was with the character ‘Ultimo’, the Carabinieri officer who served on the front line combating organized crime. In the fourth series, Ultimo works with the Environmental Operations Task Force against criminal organizations committing trafficking and illegal waste disposal. Raoul describes this as one of his favorite roles, and he is truly inspired by this character which draws extensively on the real life of Captain Ultimo who “provides a good, clean role model for young people to follow the rules and is a symbol of liberty, strength and hope”.

Like his characters, in real life Raoul is very committed to social work and dedicated to a number of charity activities and campaigns. He co-founded the Captain Ultimo Foundation with the aim to contrast the activity of organized crime and to promote legality and social justice. In 2010, Raoul was nominated FAO’s Goodwill Ambassador. In this capacity, Raoul has vigorously promoted the 1billionhungry petition against hunger and the Run for Food. In 2011, with his wife Chiara, he started a new charity ‘Coloriamo i Sogni’. He is also a supporter and the face of the ecologist organization ‘ForPlanet’, where he advocates for saving the forests of the Earth. Alongside these commitments, Raoul is very proud to be a YUNGA Ambassador!
