European Forest Week 2017 Art Contest

12/06/2017

9–13 October 2017

If you are aged 5-19, use your imagination and artistic talent to enter the European Forest Week 2017 Art Contest. All you have to do is create a drawing or painting illustrating the theme: Forests, our common good. Express your ideas about European forests and their many benefits, and share them with others around the region! Your drawing or painting could end up in a special display at European Forest Week in Warsaw, Poland, in October, and in a European Forest Week calendar.

WHO CAN TAKE PART?

The European Forest Week art contest is open to children and young people from 5 to 19 years of age. There are three age group categories for the contest: age 5 to 8, age 9 to 12, and age 13 to 19.

HOW CAN I TAKE PART?

Drawings or paintings can be created digitally, drawn, painted or sketched using pens, pencils, crayons or charcoal, or using oil, acrylic or watercolor paint. To enter, scan or photograph your entry and attach as a JPEG to an entry form, available at www.fao.org/about/meetings/european-forest-week/art-contest. A winning drawing or painting and three runners-up will be selected for each of the age group categories. The deadline for entries is 31 July 2017.

WHAT ARE THE PRIZES?

Winners and runners-up will be announced on the European Forest Week website during European Forest Week, 9-13 October 2017. They will also be featured in an exhibition in Warsaw, Poland, during European Forest Week and in a European Forest Week calendar. Winners and runners-up will receive a copy of the calendar containing their drawing or painting, and winners will receive an additional Certificate of Recognition.
