Apply to the Connect4Climate #YouthTakeover initiative

28/04/2021
The Connect4Climate #YouthTakeover initiative allows students to bring their perspectives, creativity, energy, and ideas to C4C’s coverage of key sustainability events that focus on issues important to youth in that region.  Across the four days of the event, the selected students would ‘take over’ C4C’s social media channels and add their voice to the conversation.  C4C would be convening a team of 5-6 communications students from universities across the Latin American/Caribbean region that would:
  • Liaise directly with the Washington DC based C4C team, who would remotely supervise the #YouthTakeover, providing support and guidance before, during, and after the event.
  • Be invited to tune into the program of online activities scheduled as part of the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Climate Week between 11-14 of May.
  • Have the opportunity to create content for the C4C social media channels and website, including but not limited to: Instagram stories & reels, tweets, guest blogs, interviews...
  • Learn about the climate challenges and solutions that are being discussed in their region and how to communicate these topics to their peers.

C4C is looking for students who:

  • are majoring in communications, media or journalism, ideally with an interest in learning about climate solutions and sustainability
  • are between the ages of 18-29
  • can communicate comfortably in English
  • have extensive experience with social media
  • are available between 11-14 May
  • are creative and enthusiastic communicators, who have skills such as writing articles, interviewing, presenting, video editing, or design
