Can you help End Plastic Pollution on Earth Day?

19/04/2018

Disposable plastic is everywhere. From your first cup of coffee, to the shopping bag carrying your food, to your take-out dinner, disposable plastic is permanently present in our lives. We now know that plastics are wreaking havoc on our planet because trillions upon trillions of plastic items are produced, and we simply do not have the ability to manage such an enormous amount of waste.

If you are not convinced that disposable plastic is a big problem, have you considered that about one trillion single-use plastic bags are used annually across the globe? That's nearly 2 million every minute! And bags are just one disposable plastic item among the dozens that we use almost every day.

We all contribute to the problem in one form or another. Reducing our consumption of plastics is doable, but because disposable plastic is so common, the habit can be hard to break.

Earth Day is this Sunday, April the 22nd, and we are inviting you to:

LEARN about plastic pollution using our Plastic Pollution Primer and Action Toolkit and actions that you can take to Reduce, Refuse, Reuse, Recycle and Remove plastics.

FIGURE OUT HOW MANY PLASTIC ITEMS YOU CONSUME using our Plastic Pollution Calculator and lay out a concrete plan to reduce your plastic pollution footprint, and

MAKE A PLEDGE to stick to your plan!

INVITE OTHERS TO HELP. Share a link to the calculator and the toolkit with your friends, family, and community. And share it on social media to help End Plastic Pollution this Earth Day.

The only way we will End Plastic Pollution is if the entire world is working together to do so. We know that it can sometimes feel like a massive problem that will never be solved through individual action. But we also know that if we add all our individual actions together, we become a collective that will bring about real and lasting change!!

Help us to inspire others by sharing your story with us and others. Post on social media using the hashtags: #EndPlasticPollution and #EarthDay2018

Together, we can help to END PLASTIC POLLUTION!
