Governance and decision-making processes impact every area of our lives – from how we interact with friends to how laws are formed. How decisions are made at international, national and local level determines the equality of treatment of different individuals, levels of development, whether resources are used sustainably, and fulfilment of human rights.

But how can we get involved in governance? This Challenge Badge aims to show that, by being active citizens, we can contribute towards the promotion of good governance both in our local communities and throughout the world. The activities in this Challenge Badge aim to educate young people about how decisions are made at many different levels; help improve our understanding of our rights and responsibilities as citizens; initiate thought and discussion about solutions to governance issues; and promote active citizenship.
