25 Mar 2014 -International Kungfu superstar and renowned Hollywood film actor Jackie Chan has joined FAO in the fight against hunger.
In a recent visit to Ethiopia, Chan met with beneficiaries of the ‘Purchase from Africans for Africa’ (PAA) project as well as a South-South Cooperation Programme where he discussed with Chinese experts how they exchange technical knowledge with Ethiopian farmers to help them increase the productivity of local crops.
Over the past three decades, Mr. Chan, who is also Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, has been actively using his celebrity status as a vehicle for humanitarian and public service work.
He is an inspiration to people and a compelling advocate in the fight against hunger. Among his philanthropic endeavours is the new campaign dubbed 'Peace and Love Season-Feeding the World Initiative’ - a platform that promotes good replicable practices of sustainable projects and demonstrates how small contributions can make a long lasting difference.
