Enhancing market transparency and promoting policy dialogue: Establishment of AMIS in 2011 as a platform to enhance market transparency and promote coordination of policy response in times of market uncertainty. AMIS covers four important commodities: wheat, rice, maize, and soybeans. It is composed of G20 members plus Spain and seven additional countries that are major exporters and importers of these commodities. To carry out its functions, AMIS consists of the Global Food Market Information Group for the provision of timely, accurate, reliable and comparable market and policy information, and the Rapid Response Forum to promote early dialogue about critical market conditions and ways to address them. AMIS is an inter-agency platform housed in FAO.
