Policy responses

Underpin all intervention design and implementation with a good enough context analysis to 'do no harm' - this is a prerequisite, and outlined in approaches developed by FAO with Interpeace since 2018.

In close collaboration with conflict analysis colleagues, FAO country office teams, and local UN and NGO partners monitor and use existing conflict incidence reporting (e.g. ACLED) and displacement tracking mechanisms (e.g. IOM's Displacement Tracking Mechanism) to understand trends, develop possible scenarios, and put in place adequate livelihood support modalities on the basis of a rapid response model.
