Mangrove forests occur along the eastern shore of Mauritius. They are found in the regions of Trou D'Eau Douce, Pointe D'Esny, Pointe Lafayette and Poste de Flacq and also along the shores of a number of islands, including Ile Aux Cerfs and L'ile D'Ambre. Mangrove forests are composed of Rhizophora mucronata and Bruguiera gymnorrhiza.
