The mangrove ecosystem in Dominica is not very extensive; mangroves occur in ten small patches totalling approximately 10 ha. The tallest mangrove trees, belong to the species Avicennia germinans and reach a height of 21 m. Conocarpus erectus is also recorded from Dominica.
