The photos on the pages 35 and 40 were reproduced from an anonymously written and undated cyclostyled report I found in the Ministry of Agriculture library titled, History and Customs Relative to the Settlement of Kiambu. I would date it to around 1955 or so.
The photograph on page 55 is from the frontispiece to John Boyes' book, John Boyes, King of the Wa-Kikuyu. The copyright is held by the Bodleian Library, Oxford.
