LEGISLATION
Tokelauan fishing craft
defined as a fishing craft in which no person who is not a Tokelauan has any legal or equitable interest (except by way of security only for any advance made to the owner).

-No foreign fishing craft shall be used for fishing within the EEZ except in accordance with relevant licence. (Sect. 3)
-Licence application to be made in a prescribed way and accompanied by required information to the Administrator. (Sects. 4 and 5)
-Specified case of licence issued by the Administrator, where regional fishery licence granted by the Agency. (Sect. 6)
-Fishing for research, experimental or sporting purposes by foreign fishing craft submitted to the consent of the Administrator. (Sect. 11)
-No fish shall be transhipped from a foreign craft to any other craft.
-No foreign fishing craft in the territorial sea shall have any driftnet on board. (Sect. 13 (a), (b) of amendment No. 1 of 1988)

% = Reports must be made every 3 days for vessels from Norway, Sweden and Faroes when fishing for herring, weekly when fishing for other species .
