PREFACE

Following a recommendation of the Eleventh Session of EIFAC (Hamburg, 1978), a Workshop on Mass Rearing of Fry and Fingerlings of Fresh Water Fishes was held from 8–11 May 1979 at The Hague, the Netherlands. The proceedings of this Workshop which was attended by 34 participants from 16 countries, are presented in this volume.

The hospitality of both the Dutch Government and the Organisation for Improvement of Inland Fisheries (OVB) for hosting the Workshop as well as the willingness of the Government to print this document are greatly appreciated.

The substantial support by Ir. B. Steinmetz, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, in organizing and conducting the Workshop in his capacity as technical secretary is gratefully acknowledged. Special gratitude is expressed to Ir. H.
