REPORT OF THE FAO WORKSHOP ON FOREST RESOURCES ASSESSMENT 2005 (FRA 2005): REVIEW OF NATIONAL REPORTS (Item 9)

27. A workshop on Forest Resources Assessment (FRA 2005) (document FO:NEFC/2004/INF.6) was held prior to the 16^th Session of the Commission. Twenty-four National Correspondents (NCs) from 16 countries attended (see Annex D).

28. The participants requested FAO to translate basic FRA 2005 documents into Arabic, and recommended that FAO should give special consideration to Low Forest Cover Countries (LFCCs) in FRA 2005.

29. National forest resources assessment was accorded high priority, and FAO’s assistance was strongly requested by NCs, particularly by those countries which had recently experienced conflicts.
